Self-locking Nut UNI 7473
cod: DAZ1014Self-locking nut
Self-locking Nut UNI 7473: Anti-vibration
Self-locking (or self-braking) nut UNI 7473 made of galvanized steel, class 8.8 with ISO metric threading.
This nut is made with a special nylon insert on top of the thread that during the screwing process produces a friction on the screw thread generating a braking effect that prevents it from being unscrewed even in situations of strong vibration.

These nuts have a special feature: inside their thread they contain a nylon insert or similar material that increases the friction between the nut and screw. contain a nylon insert or similar material that increases the friction between the nut and the bolt.
The nylon insert has a dual function. First, when the nut is screwed on the screw, the nylon insert exerts additional strength, which means that the screw must overcome this resistance to loosen. Secondly, the nylon insert will deform slightly during assembly, increasing the contact between the nut and screw. This creates a kind of "self-locking effect," preventing the nut from loosening itself over time.
These fittings are used in a wide range of applications where the safety and reliability of threaded connections is critical. They are often found in vehicles, industrial machinery, aircraft structures, and electronic devices.
These nuts are available in various sizes and materials, including stainless steel, brass and other metals, to meet the specific needs of applications. In addition, there are variations of the self-locking nuts, such as those with nylon inserts or self-locking material of different colors, which indicate the size or strength of the nut, facilitating recognition and use.
